ETPN2024 is an in-person event including keynotes, plenary sessions about current and future trends in Nanomedicine & disruptive healthtech, and their clinical translation.

KEYNOTE #2 Prof. Elena Cattaneo

Centre for Stem Cell Research of the University of Milano Senator for life of the Italian Republic

"From Evolution to #Nanomedicine: the inspiring journey of #Huntington disease research"

Elena Cattaneo is Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan. Her research laboratory focuses on Huntington’s disease. Utilizing in vivo methodologies, human embryonic stem cells, and genome editing techniques, the laboratory endeavors to comprehend how the mutant gene influences neuronal cell physiology. Additionally, the lab strives to develop novel pharmacological, genetic, and cellular interventions to delay or mitigate the onset and progression of the disease. Cattaneo has authored over 200 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and actively participates in public dissemination efforts and events aimed at raising awareness. In 2013, she was appointed Senator for Life by the President of the Italian Republic, Honorable Giorgio Napolitano, in recognition of her scientific achievements.
